Get hands on with our furry friends

The Discovery Barn is where we keep our small furry and feathered friends. We use the space for activities, hands on animal petting and care sessions, and meeting our newest arrivals.

It’s home to our tortoises, rabbits, small rodents, and our guinea pig village. Depending on the season it might also have our lambs, ducklings, chicks, piglets, ponies and whoever else is coming in for their check up!

Animal petting and sessions

We usually run our hands-on animal care sessions in the Discovery Barn every day:

  • Guinea pigs: 10.30am, 1.30pm, and 3.30pm
  • Rabbits: 11.30am, 2.30pm, and 4.30pm

Colouring competitions

During Summer we often hold colouring competitions in the Discovery Barn to win prizes! These are usually free to enter, ask a member of staff for details.

Access and facilities

The barn is paved and fully accessible, with no steps or ramps to get in. There are handwashing stations near every entrance. You can find out more about our accessible facilities here.
